Seaver Store Building is built.
1875
Architect: J.D. Webster. Designed in the Panel Brick / Queen Anne style and built for Frederick and Robert Seaver, it is located at today’s 743 Centre Street. It is said to be the first apartment house in Jamaica Plain and is today the oldest commercial building on Centre Street. The store closes in 1918. The building is subsequently occupied by the Ask Mr. Fowler Real Estate office.
